iorgio Di Genova is the author of Storia dell’Arte Italiana del ’900 (History of Twentieth-Century Italian Art). Already in its eighth volume, the book constitutes the greatest editorial undertaking on twentieth-century artistic production yet to be published in Italy.
n innate polemicist, he left the PCI (Italian Communist Party) in 1956 and today identifies himself politically with the unaligned left. As a critic he has followed eccentric routes, and he loves to interpret art in the light of psychoanalysis and anthropology.
